Pricing @ M1 Design

At M1 Design Ltd, we charge hourly rates on renovation projects that we estimate to be less than one working day. We expense our customers only for the time that we actually work on the job. Customers are not charged for time that we are not working on their project - such as lunch breaks, or the occasional chat.  In addition, they are not charged if we need to leave their premise to purchase or rent special equipment or tools that we may need to complete their project. However, they may be charged an hourly fee if we need to shop for parts or services that are required to complete the job.

The smaller jobs that M1 Design specializes in do not lend themselves to estimates too often. When you call us, we should be able to give you an idea of how long a similar job to yours might take. For projects that we estimate will take more than 8 hours to complete, we will put together an estimate for the project.

Certain renovation projects require us to return to residences to inspect or double check for quality assurance. For example: we may need to apply a second or third coating of drywall compound and the finished job cannot be completed on that visit, an hour or two of discounted labour may be added to cover those time costs.

M1 Design has several different pricing levels to meet as many needs as we can for the variety of services that we perform. Our pricing varies by the job, or by the hours involved, depending on your work project(s). We have competitive pricing for everyone.

Payment Options

We are pleased to offer our clients these options of paying their invoices!

Secure Online Invoicing through the Internet

Invoices can now be paid using secure technology
with one of the following credit cards
(a 3% charge may be added to your invoice if charge cards are used)

We also accept cash or cheques at the completion of our services. 
Some projects will require a 50% retainer payment.


Renovation Projects:

A 10% down deposit is required to secure you a time slot.
An additional 40% is required at the start of the project.
The remaining 50% is due upon project completion.

We ask that our customers maintain a 50% retainer so that both parties know what the final invoice will be.


Minimum Handyman Charge*: $65.00

 Priority Labour  $55.00hr
   Premium Labour  $65.00hr

• Evening appointments are available for many of our services.

• Services requiring more than 8 hours will usually be priced by an estimate.

• Individual / Single renovation projects may be estimated separately over the phone or in person.

• Prices do not include cost of goods, materials or taxes.
• Stand-by jobs may receive better pricing and/or additional discounts.
• Travel costs may apply - depending on distance to job.
• References and Photos are available on request for some projects.

Priority Labour: Projects that have time requirements, commitments or schedules and are required to be completed as soon as possible. Jobs by appointment and/or for specific periods and/or after normal working hours.

Premium Labour: Applies to projects and specialized situations where extra attention, special skills or licensed tradesmen are required. Examples of these special skills are electrical, plumbing, technical repairs, or jobs that require extra or special insurance to complete.
